Purpose of the Job
We are growing rapidly and are looking for a talented Solutions Architect.The Solutions Architect is responsible for the overall technical design of the solution and for making all technical decisions within projects.
Principal Responsibilities
Working alongside the Business Analysts, who will write and deliver the functional specification, and a project manager who will organise the team and ensure that the projects are delivered to time and budget, this is a highly technical role providing the leadership and technical competence to deliver excellent client solutions. While there is likely to be limited if any hands on development, exceptional development skills are required in order to make sure the optimal solution is designed and that the developers work to the highest quality.
Personal Specification
Experience
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:
- eCommerce experience within Retail
- Client interaction and presentation skills
- Full life cycle in a Java (.NET considered) based environment
- Demandware
- Sterling Commerce
- BEA AquaLogic Service Bus
- X/HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML and SQL
- Oracle or MS SQL Server or IBM DB2
Whilst not essential knowledge of the following would be beneficial
- Mercatus
- Solus
- Island Pacific (IPMS or Synaro)
- Retail J
- Coremetrics
- DataCash
- Scene 7
- Address Doctor
Other
- Highly intelligent - Computer Science Degree (2:2 or higher)
- Confident and proactive
- Must be self-motivated and disciplined and able to work on own initiative
- Will be committed to the achievement of excellence
